C# or JAVA Software Support Engineer – Reading – £50k

SR2 is currently representing a leading software company in central Reading who are actively looking for a software support engineer to add to their growing application support team.

We are looking for someone to sit in their application support team where you will be involved in a worldwide application support function. The applications are web based on both JAVA and C#, ASP.NET so we are looking for someone who can read and parse in either language and de-bug code in a support environment. This isn’t a development role and you would not be writing new code but you would get exposure to it.

You must have fantastic communication skills as you will be liaising with the companies end clients as well as various stakeholders globally within the business. You will work closely with product support, the development team and customers to give a deep level of analysis to various issues through testing and investigating and you will support and provide workarounds to solve issues and escalation requests.

Key requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience in a commercial application support environment
  • Experience of either JAVA, C# or .NET framework
  • You can read and parse JAVA or C#
  • Experience of debugging web based applications
  • Knowledge of oracle and SQL databases
  • Knowledge of front-end development Javascript is desirable
