DevOps Engineer – Fully remote!

— Fully remote DevOps opportunity! Work anywhere in EU. Must have rights to work in EU. —

How would you feel about working for a tech company who have built a cloud based collaboration platform that is boosting the productivity of an entire industry sector and making it more data-driven and transparent?

It’s a particularly exciting time to join as they are investing heavily back into the business, launching new products and scaling up significantly. They are forward thinking as far as tech is concerned and adopting the best tools for the job. They are currently working hard to modernise and future proof their stack.

Tech snapshot: AWS, Linux, Java, Javascript, MongoDB, PostgreSQL

They are looking for a DevOps Engineer to build, optimise, scale, aggressively automate and support the open source and AWS based infrastructure that underpin a high traffic software product. This role is a really strategic appointment for the company, the individual will report directly into the CTO and take ownership of all things relating to the infrastructure underpinning their product. You will have ample opportunity to influence the overall technical direction/architecture.

In this role you will be joining a team of engineers to help build and optimise the infrastructure underpinning their platform, ensuring it is highly available and stable. You will also work closely with developers and help them deliver their software as efficiently as possible. You will write and deliver infrastructure code and tools, help promote a DevOps culture and solve problems relating to mission critical services. You will be someone who loathes repetition and loves self-healing infrastructure.

You will be excited by automation, micro services, domain driven design, infrastructure as code and continuous delivery, be a problem solver and be very intellectually curious – constantly questioning, testing the boundaries and trying to explore how to improve things. Are the tools fit for purpose? Are they being used in the most optimal way? Is there a better way of doing things?

  • Commercial experience as a Linux Sysadmin or DevOps Engineer building and supporting AWS infrastructure.

If this looks potentially of interest I would be delighted to have a chat with you and explore matters further. Look forward to hearing from you!
