Senior Software Engineer | Start-up | Bristol
3 days remote | £70,000 + shares
If you are an experienced ‘polyglot’ developer looking to make a real impact for a new start-up to Bristol then I have an pretty cool role for you.
They are an early stage start up (14 months old) who are developing a next generation platform for investment businesses, who are pipped for huge things and have received investment from a well-known entrepreneur, and already valued over £10m!!!
You will be part of the team right from the beginning – a pretty unique opportunity. They are looking for an ambitious and talented developer who are as passionate about the business to work alongside a great technical team which we have built so far and which consists of 3 backend developers, 1 awesome Front-End developer, and a designer. As part of the development team, you’ll be responsible for agreeing the initial architecture and subsequent development of the various platform modules.
You’ll engage in the full spectrum of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering with stakeholders, working as a team to build and test features, managing deployment and supporting the service in production.
You’ll be working on a large greenfield development, helping to form the design and development of the entire system.
Skill wise, they are fairly open, whether you are skilled with C#, Java, Ruby, Python or Node for example, I’m looking to speak with backend or fullstack developers of any tech stack but you will be cross-skilled into Golang (on the job learning) and will need a good amount of experience behind you as they want you to lead on a load of new features and help to build out the development team further.
The current stack looks like this:
- Git, Bash & Golang
- Postgres SQL
- NATS Streaming
- VueJS – they are open to moving over to react.
The benefit package:
Salary: £70,000 – £75,000
– Annual Bonus: Discretionary
– Pension: 4% Employer Contribution
– Health insurance: Family health insurance cover with BUPA
– Death in Service: At least 4x Salary
– Holiday: 25 days a year
– Equity: Discretionary share options
– Further Study/Training Budget: Support towards further external qualifications
– Remote/flexible working: Subject to agreement within team (2-3 days a week is the norm)
– Individual Tech Budget: Allowance for you to build your own setup
They have a positive attitude and feel motivated to work hard and build a product that they are all proud of, and I am loving building this team.
It’s a good un!
